What is Disney Lorcana?
Disney Lorcana is a trading card game created by Ravensburger and inspired by characters, stories and worlds from Disney.
Players take on the role of an Illumineer, using magical ink to summon glimmers of Disney characters, play actions, songs, items and locations, and gather lore.
The objective is simple: be the first player to reach 20 lore.
Since its launch in 2023, Disney Lorcana has developed into a major trading card game with regular expansions, competitive events, collectible rarities, promotional cards and special cooperative products.
How to Play
Objective
Be the first player to collect 20 lore.
Game Flow
Add cards to your inkwell to generate ink.
Use ink to play characters, items, actions, songs and locations.
Send characters on quests to gain lore.
Challenge opposing characters when appropriate.
Use card abilities and combinations to build an advantage.
Construct a deck containing at least 60 cards.
A deck can contain cards from up to two different ink colours.
Starter decks provide an easy way for new players to learn the game, while constructed decks allow experienced players to build strategies around specific characters, mechanics and card combinations.
The Six Inks Explained
Each of Lorcana's six inks generally represents a different style of play.
Amber
Playstyle: Support, healing, character synergy and teamwork.
Often associated with strong character-based strategies and support effects.
Amethyst
Playstyle: Magic, card advantage, control and evasive strategies.
Often focuses on manipulating the board and generating additional resources.
Emerald
Playstyle: Disruption, discard, tempo and evasive characters.
Frequently uses effects that interfere with the opponent's plans.
Ruby
Playstyle: Aggression, challenges, removal and fast lore generation.
Often rewards proactive and combat-focused strategies.
Sapphire
Playstyle: Ramp, card draw, items and strategic preparation.
Particularly suited to players who prefer building resources before making powerful plays.
Steel
Playstyle: Strength, defence, removal and powerful characters.
Often focuses on challenging opposing characters and controlling the board.
Disney Lorcana Set Timeline (2022–2025)
Disney Lorcana launched in August 2023 and has expanded through a regular sequence of numbered sets.
The timeline below covers the main numbered sets released through Attack of the Vine! in July 2026.
For clarity, the card count shown for each set is the main numbered set. Additional Enchanted, Epic and Iconic cards are listed separately where applicable.

The First Chapter
Release: August 18, 2023
Main Set: 204 numbered cards
Additional: 12 Enchanted cards
Total unique cards excluding promos: 216
Notes: The original Disney Lorcana set introduced the six inks, Storyborn, Dreamborn and Floodborn concepts, along with the first Enchanted cards.
Ravensburger describes The First Chapter as launching with 204 cards in the main set, with the set becoming the foundation for the Lorcana game.
Rise of the Floodborn
Release: November 17, 2023
Mass Retail Release: December 1, 2023
Main Set: 204 numbered cards
Additional: 12 Enchanted cards
Notes: Introduced Floodborn glimmers and expanded the story surrounding the flood of magical ink.
Rise of the Floodborn contains 204 main-set cards, with 12 Enchanted cards numbered above the main set.
Into the Inklands
Release: February 23, 2024
Mass Retail Release: March 8, 2024
Main Set: 204 numbered cards
Additional: 18 Enchanted cards
Notes: Introduced Location cards and movement around locations, while expanding the world of the Inklands.
The main set contains cards numbered 1/204 through 204/204, with 18 Enchanted cards numbered above 204.
Ursula’s Return
Release: May 17, 2024

Additional: 18 Enchanted cards
Notes: Continued the story surrounding Ursula and introduced new gameplay elements including Sing Together.

Shimmering Skies

Notes: Celebrated the aftermath of Ursula's defeat and introduced characters and stories from franchises including Wreck-It Ralph and Brother Bear.

Archazia’s Island

Notes: Introduced Archazia's mysterious island and the first dual-ink cards, allowing cards to feature two ink colours.

Reign of Jafar

Notes: Continues the story of Jafar and his possession of the Hexwell Crown, bringing the Archazia's Island storyline to its conclusion.

Fabled
Prerelease: August 29, 2025
Worldwide Release: September 5, 2025
Main Set: 204 numbered cards
Additional: 18 Epic cards, 18 Enchanted cards and 2 Iconic cards
Total: 242 cards before promotional cards
Notes: Introduced the Epic and Iconic rarities and marked the beginning of Lorcana's set-rotation system for Core Constructed play.
Special Feature: Fabled contains a large number of reprints from earlier sets and introduced Disney's A Goofy Movie to Lorcana.
Fabled introduced the new Epic and Iconic rarities, with 18 Epic cards and two Iconic cards in addition to the Enchanted cards.
Whispers in the Well
Prerelease: November 7, 2025
Release: November 14, 2025
Main Set: 204 numbered cards
Additional: 18 Epic cards, 18 Enchanted cards and 2 Iconic cards
Total: 242 cards before promotional cards
Notes: A mystery and investigation-themed expansion introducing characters from Gargoyles, The Black Cauldron and Zootopia.
New Concept: Introduced the mysterious Whisper glimmers.
Whispers in the Well contains 204 main-set cards and 242 cards when the 18 Epic, 18 Enchanted and two Iconic cards are included.
Winterspell
Prerelease: February 13, 2026
Release: February 20, 2026
Main Set: 204 numbered cards
Additional: 18 Epic cards, 18 Enchanted cards and 2 Iconic cards
Notes: The realm is transformed by an unexpected winter as the mysterious vine storyline continues.
New Features: Introduced new classifications including Giant, Ghost and Super.

Wilds Unknown

Attack of the Vine!
Prerelease: July 17, 2026
Release: July 24, 2026
Main Set: 207 numbered cards
Additional: 18 Epic cards, 18 Enchanted cards and 2 Iconic cards
Notes: The continuing Vine storyline reaches its climax.
Featured Franchises: Monsters, Inc., Up and Turning Red.
New Gameplay: Introduces new Shift variations and the Team classification.
Special Feature: Attack of the Vine! is the first main Lorcana set to expand beyond the traditional 204-card numbered set, with cards numbered through 207/207.
The set was released worldwide on July 24, 2026 after its July 17 prerelease. Its main set extends to 207 cards.

First Disney Lorcana World Champion Crowned
The first Disney Lorcana TCG World Championship was an incredible experience for fans to watch live all weekend long. Congratulations to Dinh Khang Pham for defeating Edmond Chiu in the final to earn the first 1/1 Golden Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor card. Viewed by more than 130,000 fans across the world, the broadcast team kept the energy high and the competition fierce. With the first World Champion crowned, fans can now look forward to the next season of competitive events with dozens of Challenge events and other events on the horizon in 2025 and 2026. The Ravensburger team is excited to grow support for organized play for the Disney Lorcana TCG.
The Ravensburger team announced the following events would be happening in the next 12-16 months:

Ravensburger also announced on the livestream that Japan, China, Australia, and other territories will be joining the next season of Disney Lorcana Challenge and that there will be a path towards invitations to the World Championship. The Ravensburger team will release more details with exact dates and venues for those events soon.
In addition, Ravensburger shared a first look at even more Disney Lorcana TCG events they are supporting, designed to keep players meeting up and competing between Challenge events. These events will be supported by Ravensburger through prizing and other promotional opportunities, such as broadcasts and social media coverage.
